Paul's notes
An interesting dusky pink semi-double herbaceous hybrid. Of particular note is that it is often the earliest, and always one of the first ornamental non-single peonies to flower in our fields. Although technically a semi-double, it is always very full of petals and eminently suitable for cutting. Flowers are about 15 cm in diameter and the bush reaches about 75 cm at maturity. The bush has attractive grey green foliage with narrower than normal leaflets, which comes from its pod parent, thought to be P. mascula. Growth habit is upright and does not require mechanical support. We have found it to be very reliably healthy, which is significant given the susceptibility of early flowering types to late frosts. Sadly, we have very few of these plants available.
Flowering at the same time
Grow these together for a fuller cut in the same week, or choose from the flowering sequence to spread the season.
